Boxing Practice

Our Philosophy

We strive to give people the best boxing experience possible. We emphasize foot work, defense, and of course, punching techniques. Even though most work is done by getting in the ring, our students will eventually know how to defend themselves if the occasion arises.

We are very passionate about this sport of science, and it is a science. We put 100% into it, and that's what we try to pull out of everyone who walks through the door.

If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you.

Jon Chick

Owner/Trainer

With over 20 years of boxing experience, Jon went from amateur Golden Gloves competitions in Lowell, MA to fights in South Florida. Upon returning home, he taught classes at the Police Activities League youth program at Otis Air Force Base. From there, he began running classes at Powerhouse Gym in Cedarville, MA. This mix of local and national experience led him to open Body Work Boxing in 2019.

"My biggest inspiration is watching someone walk through that door knowing nothing, and literally weeks later, we have them boxing. You never know what's inside someone."

Zack Chick

Training with Jon, he started to compete when we has 18 and was the captain of the boxing club at Mass Maritime Academy. Training in Delaware at MVJ Athletics under a pro boxing coach, he was a Tri-State Regional Champion winning the Super Heavyweight Golden Gloves. Afterwards, he worked at Pivott Boxing academy in Philadelphia before moving home to MA.
